Katrina Kaif reveals secrets behind her glowing skin

Katrina Kaif reveals secrets behind her glowing skin
your skin for granted, says actress Katrina Kaif, who believes in the use of sunscreen, right intake of water and ensures that her makeup is removed well. The brand ambassador of the skincare range of L’Oreal Paris also says that women must take care of their body and skin according to their age.
"We shouldn't take our skin for granted, especially since we are often exposed to dirt, heat and pollution daily. We should never underestimate the need for a sunscreen to protect your skin from strong UV rays," the 31-year-old said.
"Through the day I drink lots of fluids, especially water to have my face feel fresh and hydrated. I always remove my makeup once I'm home for the day/night and use a moisturiser to not let my skin dry, even when I'm at home," she added.
L'Oreal Paris's Skin Perfect range is backed by 10 years of research at the global and Indian L'Oreal Research and Innovation Labs. The new range from the brand addresses the skincare needs specific to that age.
Talking about the need for a range that suits different age groups, she said: "Every decade in a woman's life comes with a changing set of priorities. It also comes with a changing set of skincare needs. L'Oreal Paris is addressing these needs of every Indian woman who might be prone to skin problems at some point in her life."
Katrina agrees that while women are asked to take care of their skin with home remedies and traditional beauty products in addition to maintaining healthy food habits, from a young age, she stresses on the need to use special products later in life.
"As we grow older, the demands of a hectic lifestyle take a toll on your body and your skin. This is why, it is essential to use products that replenish the vitality of your skin. Through its Skin Perfect range, L'Oreal Paris has personalised skincare for every age group, making it easy for Indian consumers to improve their skin tone leaving it with a healthy glow," she added.
The Skin Perfect collection comprises three ranges to address skincare issues at every age -- 20+, 30+ and 40+.
For the brand, Katrina has shot for a television commercial with Lisa Ray, who has been signed by L'Oreal Paris to endorse the new range. Katrina says Lisa is an absolute professional and full of life

Ayushmann Khurrana got slapped eight times

Bhumi Pednekar, who makes her debut in Dum Laga Ke Haisha, had to slap her hero Ayushmann Khurrana for a crucial scene. And being a newcomer, she was very hesitant about doing this scene.

Every time director Sharat Katariya would go for the take, the debutante would flinch. While she would give the perfect shot when she had to express her anger with her co-actor, the becharinewbie would get conscious just when she had to slap him. As a result of her nervousness, the slap part of the shot wouldn't make the required impact for the director.

Do Lafzon Ki Kahani: Randeep Hooda and Kajal Aggarwal team up for an intense love story

Deepak, who is returning to direction after more than five years, feels that the fresh pairing will be a highlight of the film. "It's a brooding love story with a little bit of action. Randeep and Kajal are an intriguing combination, and are apt for the story. Once you watch the film, you'll understand why I chose them," he says.

Randeep, who is known to play unconventional roles, essays the role of an ex-Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter. To lend authenticity to his character, the actor is currently training in the martial art form. Kajal too has an author-backed role. About his choice of actress, Deepak states, "I think Kajal's potential has not been exploited in Hindi films so far. I can assure you of a powerful performance by her." The movie, produced by Avinaash V Rai under the banner of Dhiraj Motion Pictures, marks Randeep's first out-and-out love story. "It's also my first attempt at a love story," says Deepak, adding, "Randeep was our only choice for this role. Avinaash and I were convinced that only he can play this intense character. It was tough to find a girl who could match Randeep's potential. Kajal fit the bill. Once I met her, I knew I had found the perfect match."

Bollywood film fans fall in love with PK despite Hindu nationalist protests

Movie triggers joy and fury in India, with record box office takings and calls for arrest of star for allegedly defaming Hinduism

If aliens were to land in India today they would be greeted by a bewildering spectacle – while hordes of film buffs gather outside cinemas to see the latest Bollywood blockbuster, an angry mob waves saffron-coloured flags and calls for the arrest of the movie’s hero for allegedly defaming Hinduism.

PK, a hugely successful yet controversial film, is turning out to be the strangest phenomenon to emerge from a Bollywood studio. Even as Hindu leaders call for a ban on the film, it has grossed more than 4.82bn rupees (£49.1m) worldwide in its first two weeks, making it the second most successful Bollywood film of all time.

As it began its third week in cinemas on Friday, there was little doubt that if film fans continue to snub PK’s vociferous and occasionally violent critics, the movie will become the biggest money-spinner in Bollywood box office history, overtaking 2013’s Dhoom 3 (£54.7m).

Aamir Khan, one of Bollywood’s biggest stars, plays PK’s eponymous lead, an alien who gets left behind by his spaceship in the Rajasthan desert and stumbles on to the hypocrisy and deceit in organised religion. PK then sets about exposing a Hindu “godman”, a term for a particularly charismatic guru who may claim to have paranormal powers. The extraterrestrial social crusader resembles Mad magazine’s jug-eared mascot Alfred E Neuman, and often behaves like Mr Bean.

PK contains all the ingredients that a big-budget Bollywood film uses to attract audiences – song, dance, romance, melodrama, comedy, incredible plot twists. The rollicking satire also packs a message, something typical of films by director Rajkumar Hirani, who first had international success with 3 Idiots, also starring Khan.

Bollywood films have successfully lampooned godmen before, most recently in Oh My God! But PK hit the screens after the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) came to power last year on the wings of a strong popular mandate for its leader, Narendra Modi.

As a result, newly empowered radical Hindu organisations affiliated to the BJP pounced on PK after its release. Nationwide protests are being organised outside cinemas, even vandalising a few and forcing some to cancel screenings. Complaints have also been filed with the police and in courts demanding a ban on the film and the arrest of its director and star.

The influential yoga guru Baba Ramdev has even asked for a social boycott of everyone associated with the film. “People think a hundred times while talking against Islam,” he said. “However, when it comes to Hinduism any one gets up and says anything, this is shameful.”

Aamir Khan film PK on course for highest ever Bollywood opening in US

A controversial Indian fish-out-of-water comedy about a goggle-eyed alien who arrives on Earth with a mission to study humanity is on course to score the biggest Bollywood debut of all time at the US box office, reports Deadline.

PK, starring Aamir Khan as an extra terrestrial who questions the subcontinent’s myriad religious creeds, opened in 10th place in north America with a haul of $3.46m (£2.21m) at the weekend, according to early estimates. It is the third Bollywood film to make the top 10 in recent years, following Dhoom 3 and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani in 2013.

Dhoom 3, which also starred Khan, opened with $3.44m at the US box office last December, meaning it could hold on to the record if PK slips back by just $20,000 at the final count. PK is reportedly behind its rival in India after opening with just over 900m rupees ($14.2m) over the weekend. According to bollywoodhungama.com, its opening-day haul of 260.63m rupees was the seventh best of all time in India.

PK also opened in the UK, where results are expected later this week. The film took $22.13m worldwide, according to Deadline.

Director Rajkumar Hirani’s satire has attracted criticism from some religious parties in India. Detractors have condemned scenes in which the titular alien visits Delhi and innocently questions the complex rituals mankind has chosen to connect with God, as well as the commercialisation of religion. In October last year the film was hit with a legal complaint after onlookers near the shoot in the Chandni Chowk area of central Delhi objected to a reported dream sequence in which a man dressed as the Hindu deity Lord Shiva could be seen pulling a rickshaw in which two burqa-clad women were sitting. A mob reportedly gathered and the three actors involved were taken to a nearby police station.

Khan and Hirani were named in the complaint, according to India Today. It is not clear if the scene made it into the final cut, though reviews suggest that the Lord Shiva character remains in the movie.

How the home of Bollywood united to rescue the Mumbai Film Festival

Mumbai will forever be associated with cinema - but the story of how Bollywood’s home has rescued its film festival through people-power is a powerful indicator of just important that bond is to the city.
Following the withdrawal of the Mumbai Film Festival’s long-term title sponsor last year, a period of uncertainty left its 16th edition under serious threat. With less than two months to go, a crowdfunding campaign hashtagged #Pledge4MAMI was started by the film critic Anupama Chopra. The campaign went viral on social media, drawing support and funding pledges from prominent members of the film industry, regular festival-goers and film buffs alike.
The actor Kalki Koechlin, who hosted the opening night of the festival on Tuesday without charging for her time, said the necessity of crowdfunding had turned the event into a “people’s festival”. “This just goes to prove the absolute and complete love for cinema that Mumbai has,” Chopra added. “The support that has poured in for the festival reinforces the fact that Mumbai was, and always will be, the cinematic capital of India.”
Festival-goers and Bollywood members alike say the crowdfunding exercise has created an extra emotional connection to this year’s festival, which runs until 21 October. One journalist announced her contribution in the middle of a press conference being held by the festival organisers. “In a world where everything is measurable, the support given to Mumbai Film Festival 2014 reflects that you cannot put a value on the culture of a city,” Chopra said.
Apart from Koechlin, an array of leading film industry figures including Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Aamir Khan and Deepika Padukone, plus industrialists such as Anand Mahindra, have all contributed heavily to the festival with their time and personal funds. The festival welcomed legendary French actress Catherine Deneuve, who received its lifetime achievement award on the opening night and held a masterclass session with Padukone.
